|Tengah New Town Review For New Home Buyers|
|Overview and History|| |
Tengah new town is started up in 2018. In the 80s, there is a Brickworks factory and some farms ocuppying the area. They are well-known places are Hong Kah Village, Jurong Village and Brickworks. In the 80s to 90s, most of them are relocated to other locations. Some Jurong Village hawkers are moved to Boon Lay Hawker Center. One of the favorites are Soya Bean Milk and Char Kway Teow/Carrot Cake store. The old uncle is still there cooking the 13th Mile Carrot Cake in the Morning. Jurong School in Hong Kah Village which is relocated to Jurong Primary School in the 80s but combine with another Primary School later on. During the young times, Kids from Primary school like to go to the canal (Along PIE) to catch fishes such as Tilapia and Mollies. Sometimes you may get surprises like snakehead and Soon Hock there but you need to risk climbing down the drain via the ladder down to it. This new town will have some light industrial buildings in the west as this is due to the low flying aircrafts landing/taking off at Tengah Airbase

|Transport||For Transport now, currently it have 180 along Bt Batok Rd, 174 along Jurong Rd which will align into town soon once roads are ready in tengah new town. For the time being(2018), you can use 180(to Bt Panjang, Boon Lay, Chinese Garden, Lakeside MRT) and 174(to Bukit Batok, Beauty World, Boon Lay, Bt Timah Rd, Farrer Rd, Orchard Rd, Somerset, Dhoby Ghaut, CityHall, Chinatown and Outram). |Nearby Workplaces and Schools Available||Jurong is a big industrial estate since the 70s and have extended to Tuas in the 90s. There are alot of work opportunities in the logistics and manufacturing sector such as oil and gas, pharmacutical, Engineering, Shipyards and etc. Jurong East is another upcoming city to house more offices, headquarters. Hence, it will be good for you to live and have a job nearby other than the city or further other than the west. For education, there are quite a number of good schools in the west such as River Valley high School, Bt Panjang High School. Nevertheless, there are a few secondary schools nearby such as Boon Lay Secondary, Commonwealth Secondary, Yuhua Secondary, Bt Batok Secondary Schools, Boon Lay Primary, Elizabeth Primary, Corporation Pri School if you have children moving into Tengah New Town. Ngee Ann Polytechnic, UniSIM, Nanyang Technological University(NTU), Jurong Junior College and Singapore Polytechnic are nearby to the town.|
|Conclusion and Verdict|| To conclude, it is quite a decent town with future transport rail linking to different towns as compare to Punggol and Sengkang due to their LRT is only linking to its own town center which is a letdown setup as bottleneck happens. Work opportunity is here and available schools for older children when moving in. The price should be lower/same as compare to Punggol/Sengkang due to the maturity. As for the Tengah airbase, it is noisy but only for awhile in the daytime. Transport need time to grow there as it is still developing there until the mid 2020s. We will rate this town as 3.5 out of 5.|| About BasicReno.com || BasicReno.com is an online self-service platform for New HDB/Condominum/Shop Owners to get their place renovated. |
